Open Access Publishing Agreement
University West offers several advantageous national agreements which allow our researchers and doctoral students to publish their articles Open Access free of charge or with a discount.
When you as a researcher or doctoral student are to publish in journals with fully or partially open access, you are usually required to pay a Article Processing Charge, (APC) to make the article freely available. After that, the article is open for reading without any requirement for a journal subscription. Through the national agreements signed by the library, all or part of the publication fee can be covered.
What do I do as an author to participate in an agreement?
- You need to be the corresponding author, be an employee or doctoral student at University West at the time of article submission. You should use your email address of University West. Corresponding author is the person who handles the manuscript and communication with the publisher during the publishing process.
- Make sure that your affiliation is correct. It is possible to add another affiliation as well.
- Once an article is accepted, you will receive information from the publisher on how to proceed
- The library will verify your University West affiliation when the article is submitted or accepted.
