If you have used ChatGPT, Copilot or another generative AI tool in your examination, based on the fact that it has been part of the assignment or is otherwise allowed, you use the following template when building the reference:

Template:
Title of the Gen AI-tool. Year. Place of publication: Publisher. Software: Platform.

Text reference:
ChatGPT (2024) answers that...

One answer that is delivered is... (Chat GPT, 2024).

Reference list:
ChatGPT. 2024. San Francisco: OpenAI. ChatGPT: Microsoft Windows.

Observe!
If there is no specified developer of the AI service, the issuing organization is listed as the developer.

If you use a Generative AI tool in, for example, your degree project, you should describe how you have used the service in a method section or elsewhere in the text. Show which prompts, i.e. questions/instructions, you have asked and which part of the generated text you have used. If it is a longer text, the information can be added as an appendix to the work.

Tips from the library! We have understood that, among other things, ChatGPT makes up references that do not exist. Remember to always examine the authenticity of the provided references you may receive, just as you should critically review the information the Gen AI service gives you.
