Our publishing agreements
The library at University West participates in national agreements that provide free or discounted publication fees for open access publications.
When a researcher or doctoral student are going to publish in journals with full or partial open access, there is usually a publication fee (also called Article Processing Charge, APC) to make the article freely available. After that, the article is open for reading without any requirement for a journal subscription. Through the national agreements signed by the library, all or part of the publication fee can be covered.
What do I need to do to access an agreement?
A requirement is that you are the contact person for the publisher (corresponding author), are an employee or doctoral student at University West when you submit your article. You should also have provided your email address for University West.
Make sure that you provided the correct affiliation. If necessary, you can add additional organization affiliation.
Once an article is accepted, you will receive information from the publisher on how to proceed. The library verifies that you belong to University West so that the process can continue.
