How to read an e-book

Most e-books can be read online in the browser without downloading. To access the databases, you need to go to the database via our website (to get the correct ID number with you) and then you log in with your HV username and password.

See the list of all our e-book databases or read more about how you can listen to the book with reading tools.

Read the book offline?

If you want to read an e-book without an internet connection, you need to download it to your computer. There may be limitations on how much of the material you can download, e.g. per chapter. Most often you will receive the file as a PDF or EPUB. There are several e-book reader programs you can use, e.g. Pocket Book Reader, Thorium or Adobe Digital Editions.
