Why do we change the structure of the library webpages?

In the spring of 2026, a new website for the entire HV.se will be launched. As part of this, the library is reviewing its content to create a more needs-centered content structure that makes it easier for our visitors to quickly and easily find answers to their questions based on their own circumstances.

For you as a teacher or at University West, the new page structure for the library may feel unfamiliar at first. This is because we now sort our web pages according to what the reader is doing (e.g. write, publish, visit, borrow) instead of categorizing by target group (such as borrower, researcher, distance student). In this way, we can answer questions about, for example, how to search for information, in the same place but targeted for several types of individuals. The information will become more and more advanced the longer you read.

How did we go about it?

During the spring of 2025, we have conducted several workshops with library staff, conducted surveys to teachers, researchers and students, compiled questionnaires from our visitors and analyzed web statistics.

Launch for the start of the semester Autumn 2025

The new content structure was launched in August 2025, ahead of the start of the autumn semester.

We would like to encourage anyone who links to bibliotek.hv.se in various ways to review these after the launch as they may have been broken after the rebuild process. We will, as far as possible, correct all links that we can find on hv.se, but in Canvas you as a teacher need to make the adjustment yourself.
