Swedish newspapers

"Svenska dagstidningar" is a project at the National Library of Sweden, where University West is one of the universities that is involved and can offer full text. The service is constantly being updated with both older titles and new material for titles that are still being published. You can see the full list of newspapers that have been digitised in the National Library of Sweden's forum. It takes about 4 months from the publication of a newspaper until it is in service.

You can get results in KB's search engine on your own computer, but if you want to open articles/magazines from the last 100 years and read the full text, you need to book our computer in the library.

Access to newspapers in our local area is e.g.

  • Trollhättan 7 dagar 2013-01-09-
  • TTELA 2013-11-01-
  • Nya Lidköpingstidningen 2014-01-01-
  • Bohuslänningen 2014-01-01-

Audiovisual media

If you are researching or writing a thesis, you can order material that will be delivered to the library. To be able to borrow from the Swedish Media Database, you must first register. Follow the instructions under Login / Create account.

Your order will arrive at the library as a DVD, which can be viewed on a specially designated computer in the library once your material has arrived.
